IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Student Chapter of the University of Thessaly, in Lamia, Greece, is a volunteer scientific group based in the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics. Our chapter was founded in December 2021 and currently consists of 29 active members.
We are engaged in the field of research in the scientific disciplines of Bioengineering, Artificial Intelligence, Neuroengineering, eHealth, Bioinformatics and Internet of Things.
We organize activities such as scientific lectures and interactive, hands-on workshops on the aforementioned scientific disciplines and our goal is to promote Industrial Engineering in academia! Furthermore, we carry out a variety of volunteer activities with all our members !

9th Regional Educational Robotics Competition of Central Greece

💡 The Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics, the Secondary Education Directorate of Fthiotida and the student volunteer scientific chapters of IEEE and EMBS of our department, have the great pleasure and honor to organize, under the auspices of the Regional Directorate of Central Greece, this year’s 9th Regional Educational Robotics Competition of Central Greece, which will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at the premises of the 3rd Gymnasium of Lamia, in the area of Afanos.
🌍 The theme of this year’s Panhellenic Educational Robotics Competition is “Mediterranean as a source of life and culture“. The participating teams, depending on the age group of the participants, are invited to implement innovative and functional automation and robotics projects aimed at achieving specific challenges. The winning teams from all regional competitions in the country qualify and compete in the National Robotics Olympiad that will take place in Athens on March 31, 2024.
