Md. Nazmul Islam (Lecturer, Department of EEE, Prime University), Former student of BSMRSTU submit a petition for formation of IEEE BSMRSTU Student Branch in 2020.
He serves as the first chair of the IEEE BSMRSTU Student Branch. Under his leadership, the branch was officially approved in May 2021.
His role includes fostering a dynamic environment for students in electrical and electronic engineering, promoting professional development, and encouraging participation in IEEE activities. Nazmul’s dedication to academic excellence and innovation has been instrumental in establishing a vibrant IEEE community at BSMRSTU, enabling students to connect with global technological advancements and professional networks.

Chayan Mondal, Lecturer, Department of EEE , BSMRSTU
Chayan Mondal serves as the inaugural Counselor of the IEEE BSMRSTU Student Branch.
In this role, he mentors and guides the branch’s activities, fostering a culture of innovation and professional development among students. With a strong background in electrical engineering, Chayan supports students in engaging with IEEE resources, participating in conferences, and contributing to technological advancements. His leadership is crucial in establishing a robust IEEE community within the university.
Counselor
Dr. A.T.M. Saiful Islam, Chairman, Department of EEE, BSMRSTU
He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU).
As the Counselor of the IEEE BSMRSTU Student Branch, he plays a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring students. His research interests include functional materials, solar energy, and electronics.
He holds a Ph.D. from Japan and both M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees from Bangladesh. His dedication to academic and professional excellence has significantly contributed to the development of the IEEE community at BSMRSTU
