After the success of our Formula Electric Belgium event in Bruges, we’re thrilled to invite you to an inspiring evening with Aether on April 24th at the Ghent campus! Aether is a student team designing and building a satellite that can safely return to Earth after a stay in space. We aim to achieve this goal with an inflatable heat shield. During the launch, this heat shield is folded up to fit inside the 10x10x30 centimeter form factor of the satellite. When the spacecraft starts its return to Earth, the shield is inflated to protect the the sensitive payload, electronics and structure of the satellite against the extreme heat of the atmospheric re-entry. Through Aether, just-graduated students get the opportunity to work on a real space mission where they have full control over the direction the project is heading. On April 24th, the Aether team will be on campus to share their journey, dive into the fascinating technology behind their work, and showcase their latest designs. This is your chance to meet the team, ask questions, and get hands-on insights into real-world space engineering.
