Student Branch Counselor
Abdulrahman S. Ahmed Abduljalil received Associate Diploma (1993) and B.Sc. (1996) then M.Sc. (2002) in Mechanical Engineering from University of Bahrain (UOB). His Ph.D. was awarded from University of Manchester in 2012, which was done in Thermoacoustics, which makes him the first specialized person in this field within the Middle East. He was the director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation Office at Collage of Engineering between 2015 and 2019. Currently, Dr. Abdulrahman is an assistant Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department, teaching Thermodynamics and Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning for future Mechanical Engineers and Thermal Sciences for future Electrical Engineers and Electronic Engineers. In addition to his relatively new responsibilities with IEEE as SAC counselor for Bahrain section as well as UOB Isa Town Branch counselor, he has a rich history with regards to voluntary work from which some positions are listed below.
Dr Abdulrahman Abduljalil (or Dr. Abdulrahman Alsayed, as preferred to be called with) has currently the following positions:
- Vice President of Bahrain Association for Parents and Friends of
the disabled - Board member of Bahrain Paralympic Committee
- Board member of Bahrain Society for Social and National Accord
- Founding member of International Organization for Tolerance and
Global Peace. - Member of Gulf Disability Society
- Member of Friendship Society for Blinds
- Member of Bahrain Autistic Society
