It is always a pleasure when the IEEE UOB SB manages to host seminars that introduce students to what’s new out there, regarding future technologies and what will be the talk of the coming years.

This time around, the SB was glad to have Dr. Khalid Al Awadhi, CEO of Gulf Corporation for Technology, as a guest speaker to speak about the future prospects of biomedical engineering. The Seminar was held on the Isa Town Campus, in the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering on the 4th of May. The seminar was not only targeted to students, therefore many of the faculty members showed up, including the head of the EEE department. So many questions were asked as biomedical engineering offers one of the most interesting future aspects that are being discussed worldwide right now. Dr. Khalid took us, step by step, through all the that we, as prospective engineers, should be well-informed about when it comes to future technologies regarding biomedical engineering. Events like this seminar are mainly organized to broaden the horizons of knowledge of engineering students so that when it is about time for them to meet with the world, they have a full understanding of its needs and ways in which these needs can be met. Many students find these seminars a lot more useful than others because it takes them one step further when it comes to learning more and the SB couldn’t agree more.

Keep an eye for our next seminar, for it may be exactly what you are looking for.
