As University of Bahrain’s students enter the second semester of the academic year 2015/2016; The IEEE UOB Student Branch promises to kickstart this term with the student branch semi-annual gathering to bring together its members under festive airs in the first week back on the 23rd of February. Proudly, this branch gathering may have been the largest organised event that IEEE UOB SB was solely responsible for this year.

The event was ongoing for at least 4 hours with a number of crowds showing up throughout the event with a large count of non-members who asked questions about joining the IEEE family which was one of the great outcomes of the gathering. As per usual, the gathering offered numerous stations in which various activities played out: The IEEE Photo Booth, IEEE Cafe, Chess Tables, and much more. This time around, however, the bigger part of the gathering was interactive: there were competitions with vey attractive prizes and an interactive waffle-making workshop that appealed to many onlookers and engaged the attendees.

The gathering was a light get-together with a lot to offer to the attendees and a great chance to introduce what IEEE is all about to the non-members who turned out. Overall, the gathering payed off greatly as it was not only a meet-up after a long break but also one of the main reasons the IEEE Student Branch family increased in size.
