IEEE E-JUST Student Branch Wins the Prestigious Darrel Chong Student Activity Award!
With immense pride, we announce our victory in the Darrel Chong Student Activity Award!
The award was for the flagship competition for our branch FireFighting boats robotics competition. This recognition is a significant milestone for the IEEE E-JUST Student Branch, marking a testament to our commitment to creating impactful, value-driven initiatives.
The Darrel Chong Award is not merely about recognition; it’s about excellence in student activities that align with IEEE’s mission. Winning this award is no small feat—student branches worldwide compete for this recognition, and the evaluation criteria are rigorous, assessing everything from the concept of the activity, its implementation, sustainability, and the real impact on students and the broader community.
This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication, hard work, and vision of our previous Chair, Eng. Mohamed Tahoon, and his 2022/2023 Executive Committee in addition to every volunteer who made such a great achievement happen. Their relentless efforts to elevate the quality of our student activities laid the foundation for this award. They designed and implemented innovative programs that left a lasting positive impact on our student community, making the branch stronger than ever.
The award was received by the Chair Mr. Gasser Amr and Vice-Chair Mr. Mohamed Hasabo for season 2023/2024 at the R8 Student and Young Professionals (SYP) congress in France, Grenoble 2024
