Summer Course CSAgri IPB 2022
International Summer Course CSAgri IPB 2022 chooses a theme “Computer Science for Agriculture : IoT for Smart Urban Farming”. The event has been held online and lasts for 9 days, from 9th to 17th September 2022. This event was attended by more than 50 participants. The goal of this event is to getting interest younger generation in agriculture in the millennial era that leads to agriculture 4.0. The reason of this summer course was held due to increasing urbanization and limited land in urban areas have triggered the development of an efficient narrow-land agricultural model. In addition, the increasing busyness of a person especially in urban areas encourages the need for automated farming.
Various activities have been carried out by all participants, there are:
- General lectures, delivered by speakers who are experts in their fields
- Virtual visit, to industrial and research facilities to observe the implementation of IoT technology in agricultural business processes, such as Agribusiness & Technology Park of IPB, I-Surf Lab, and Vocational School’s Garden via OCW LMS
- Discussion group, about how to utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology for farming in narrowland.
- Hands-on practice session, to develop their own IoT project for agriculture.
- Final project, as the final assignment form of this summer course with video and presentation about the applications of IoT in agriculture.
