The Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the IEEE Student Branch and Society Chapters at Christ University, Bangalore, held on January 20, 2024, was a momentous occasion, providing a comprehensive overview of the IEEE community’s achievements and future endeavors.

Distinguished guest speakers included Dr. Chandrakanta Kumar, Deputy Project Director for Chandrayaan-2, and Dr. Chengappa M.R., Vice Chair-ECIM, IEEE India Council Vice-Chair for Industry Engagement & Open/IEEE Standards.

 

HANDS-ON WORKSHOP ON DEVOPS

The “Hands-on Workshop on DevOps” unfolded as an engaging 3-hour exploration led by Zoomcar’s Senior DevOps Engineer, Mr. Abhimanyu Prajapati. Participants, armed with Minikube, Docker, Kubectl, and AWS CLI on their machines, delved into the core principles of DevOps at the start. This immersive journey continued with practical insights into AWS cloud services, highlighting EC2, VPC, Load Balancer, RDS, and ECR, followed by hands-on experience in Kubernetes for effective containerised application management.

Dr. Appaji, Vice Chair of the IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter and Chair of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, brings a wealth of expertise to the gathering.The agenda for this significant meeting includes the inauguration of new Office Bearers and the Executive Committee, marking the commencement of a new chapter.

Embarking on an enlightening journey, the technical talk titled “Bridging The Gap: From Classroom To Career For Futuristic And Modern Employment In The World Of AI And Data Science” unfolded valuable insights into the latest developments in data science and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML).

Raja Gopal, a distinguished representative from Zoho Corporation, led the session, sharing expertise and industry perspectives on the evolving landscape of AI and data science. Attendees were immersed in discussions covering current trends, challenges, and opportunities within the field, along with insights into the skills and knowledge crucial for a successful AI and data science career.
