Computer Society India Symposium 2023

The Computer Society India Symposium 2023 is an annual event organized by the IEEE Computer Society in collaboration with Chandigarh University. It aims to bring together students, professionals, and enthusiasts from the field of computer science and information technology to share knowledge, insights, and experiences.

C³ (Coffee, Connection and Conversation)

The mentoring program called “Coffee, Connection & Conversation” offers a platform for students to interact with their seniors, which allows them to obtain insightful knowledge about the latest technological developments. Through this program, students can socialize with experienced individuals, expand their network, and enhance their understanding of technology. It provides a unique opportunity for students to gain valuable insights that can help them navigate the technological landscape more effectively.

Midnight Classes

Midnight Classroom is a peer-to-peer education program focused towards delivering an informative and engaging introduction to different in-demand technology related topics, providing a solid foundation upon which to build further knowledge and skill in this area.

Research Paper Writing Workshop

On December 27, 2022, the IEEE Computer Society CUSB organized a Research Paper Writing Session, featuring Dr. Harsimran S Sodhi as the speaker. The session aimed to familiarize participants with the benefits of research papers and provide guidance on the initial steps involved in writing them, following the official Development Brochure of IEEE CUSB under the IPRC model, which emphasizes the research aspect. Dr. Sodhi covered various aspects of writing a research paper, including selecting topics, gathering materials, taking notes from sources, establishing a thesis, creating an outline, and more. 

R&D Renaissance

A three-day event called “R&D Renaissance” was held to raise awareness about geo-spatial technologies. Distinguished speakers from prestigious institutions such as IIT Bombay, IIT Ropar, Punjab Engineering College (PEC), and Indian Society of Remote Sensing were invited to speak. The students were given informative sessions by these speakers on various topics, including the use of remote sensing in disaster management and the identification of glacier features using object-based image analysis.
