The workshop was conducted by Abhilash V of IUDX, FSID, IISc Bangalore on DevOps and Dr. Jyotirmoy Dutta of IUDX FSID IISc Bangalore on Smart City Stack. IEEE Student Body Annual General Meet 2024 CU
Mini Seminar Hall, Block 2, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Kengeri Campus Kanmanike, BangaloreThe Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the IEEE Student Branch and Society Chapters at Christ University, Bangalore, held on January 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM IST to 01:00 PM IST. This was a pivotal event that encapsulated a comprehensive overview of the accomplishments and future endeavors of the IEEE community. The meeting commenced with an introduction by the emcee, setting the tone for the day's proceedings. A traditional lamp lighting ceremony marked the official inauguration, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and the pursuit of technological advancements within the IEEE community. Dr. Mary Anitha, the Associate Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, delivered a compelling presidential address, highlighting the significance of IEEE in fostering academic and professional growth. The announcement of office bearers for the academic year 2024-2025 followed, accompanied by the distribution of certificates to advisors and office bearers from the preceding term. In the academic year 2023-2024, the School of Engineering and Technology at Christ University, Bangalore, witnessed an active and dedicated team leading the IEEE Student Branch and various Society Chapters. In particular, the leadership of the IEEE Student Branch (STB17341) was spearheaded by Abel Jo Alex as the Student Chair, Aaqil Faheem as the Vice-Chair, and Aishwarya Ann Joseph as the Secretary. The Treasurer role was undertaken by K Sivani, and Joint Treasurer responsibilities were managed by Mehwish Sultana. Mariya Vincent served as the Webmaster, and key heads of departments included Aleena (Design Head), Annie G (Cultural Outreach), Ashutosh (IV Head), and Meenakshi S A (Social Outreach). Dr. Vijaya Margaret served as the Branch Counselor. Simultaneously, the IEEE Antenna Propagation Society (APS) Student Chapter (AP03) saw dynamic leadership with Rachamadagu Rushikesh as the Student Chair, Bashaboyina Aditi as the Student Vice Chair, Mrigakshi Kashyap as the Secretary, Melbin Manoj as the Treasurer, and Aniket Prasad as the Webmaster. Dr. Shashikumar D provided guidance as the APS Advisor, and Dr. Ranjith R served as the ECE Faculty-Incharge. The IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Student Chapter (PE31) was led by Jennifer Lobo as the Chairperson, Anston Peter as the Student Vice-Chair, José N. Marcos as the Secretary, Malavika T.S as the Treasurer, and James L as the Webmaster. The IEEE Computer Society (CS) Student Chapter (C16) had Augadh Verma as the Chairperson, Aaron Probha as the Student Vice-Chair, Kevin Johnson as the Secretary, B Satyam Rao as the Treasurer, and Ashley Varghese as the Webmaster. Dr. Sandeep Kumar served as the CS Advisor, and Dr. Jayapandian N took on the role of CS Faculty-Incharge. The IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group, represented by Esther Maria Kurian as the Chairperson and Nikitha Sajith as the Secretary, played a crucial role in promoting gender diversity and inclusion within the IEEE community. Furthermore, the IEEE Sight Affinity Group was led by Sanjay M as the Chairperson and B. Sai Sandyaa as the Secretary, with guidance from Dr. Jyothi Thomas, who served as the SIGHT Advisor. The dedication and collaborative efforts of these office bearers contributed significantly to the success and vibrancy of IEEE activities and initiatives throughout the academic year. Their commitment to advancing technology and fostering a community of learning and innovation reflects positively on the School of Engineering and Technology at Christ University. Ex-secretary Migheal Newton presented a comprehensive report on IEEE activities, providing insights into the achievements and milestones reached throughout the year. The AGM also featured distinguished guest speakers, with Dr. Chandrakanta Kumar, Deputy Project Director for Chandrayaan 2 and Chair-elect of IEEE Bangalore Section, sharing valuable insights on working within IEEE. Dr. Chengappa M.R., Vice Chair-ECIM, IEEE India Council Vice-Chair for Industry Engagement & Open/IEEE Standards, provided guidance on conducting activities and updates. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Allen, the previous year's chair. The AGM played a crucial role in shaping the IEEE landscape at Christ University, offering a platform for reflection, acknowledgment, and strategic planning. The diverse and dynamic office bearers for the upcoming term were introduced, bringing fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to drive IEEE initiatives forward. The event served as a catalyst for networking and collaboration, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose within the IEEE family at Christ University.
