PHOTONIC INTEGRATED CIRCUIT (RECENT TRENDS AND FUTURE DEMANDS)

On the 31st of August 2023, a captivating session unfolded in the physical realm, shining a spotlight on the world of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs). This enlightening event was meticulously orchestrated by the IEEE chapter of Dibrugarh University's student branch. The distinguished guest of honour and speaker for the evening was Dr. Haraprasad Mandal, assistant professor of  the Electronics and Communication Department of DUIET (Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology). The event commenced with a ceremonious welcome, as Dr. Mandal was gracefully introduced and acknowledged. Dr. Mandal's presence was indeed a matter of great prestige, given his illustrious reputation as a trailblazing researcher in the realm of Photonic Integrated circuits. The assembly of attendees comprised a diverse and dynamic group of tech enthusiasts, representing various departments, who had gathered in anticipation of unlocking the secrets of Photonic ICs. As the session unfolded, Dr. Mandal masterfully unveiled a panorama of possibilities and cutting-edge developments within the field of Photonic ICs. He also mentioned photonic crystal as a platform for PIC. He delved into the intricacies of manufacturing these complex circuits, not shying away from discussing the formidable obstacles that lie in the path of PIC fabrication. Despite these challenges, the allure of Photonic ICs proved irresistible, primarily because of their capacity to address pressing global market demands and adapt to fluctuating trends. To cap off this intellectually stimulating evening, attendees were treated to a delightful assortment of refreshments, adding a touch of conviviality to an already illuminating event.
