Aim & Scope

Healthcare industry need a ground level work for the upgradation of IC’s integrated with biomedical equipment’s in pandemic like situation. Efficient, reliable, low power and portability will be important parameters for the performance of such integrated circuit.  Therefore, design and architecture level changes are now demand of next generation semiconductor industry and chip fabrication for biomedical applications. Every government is targeting to the development of semiconductor design and create manpower in this area by promoting more research for biomedical applications. This special session will be focused to attract the researchers, practitioners, expert for bringing their ideas and research at common platform and get benefited through mutual exchange of ideas& discussions.Authors may also invite or get the feedback on the level of research work done that may lead to further improvement in their work.

Dr. Suman Lata Tripathi

Dr. Suman Lata Tripathi has completed her Ph.D. in the area of microelectronics and VLSI from MNNIT, Allahabad. She is also a remote post-doc researcher at Nottingham Trent University, London, UK in the year 2022. She is associated with Lovely Professional University as a Professor with more than 19 years of experience in academics. She has published more than 74 (22 SCI) research papers in refereed IEEE, Springer, Elsevier and IOP science journals and conferences. She has also published 13 Indian patents and 2 copyright. She has organized several workshops, summer internships, and expert lectures for students. She has worked as a session chair, conference steering committee member, editorial board member, and peer reviewer in international/national IEEE, Springer, Wiley etc Journal and conferences. She has received the “Research Excellence Award” in 2019 and “Research Appreciation Award” in 2020, 2021 at Lovely Professional University, India. She had received the best paper at IEEE ICICS-2018. She has also received funded project from SERB DST under the scheme TARE in the area of Microelectronics devices. She has edited and authored more than 15 books in different areas of Electronics and electrical engineering. She is associated for editing work with top publishers like Elsevier, CRC Taylor and Francis, Wiley-IEEE, SP Wiley, Nova Science and Apple academic press etc. She is also working as book series editor for title, “Smart Engineering Systems” CRC Press, “Engineering system design for sustainable developments” Wiley-Scrivener and conference series editor for “Conference Proceedings Series on Intelligent systems for Engineering designs” CRC Press Taylor & Francis. She is the guest editor of a special issue in “Current Medical Imaging” Bentham Science. She is associated as senior member IEEE, Fellow IETE and Life member ISC and is continuously involved in different professional activities along with academic work. Her area of expertise includes microelectronics device modeling and characterization, low power VLSI circuit design, VLSI design of testing, and advanced FET design for IoT, Embedded System Design, reconfigurable architecture with FPGAs and biomedical applications etc.

Dr. Balwinder Raj

Associate Professor, NIT Jalandhar

He is working as Associate Professor in ECE Department, NIT Jalandher. He has worked as Associate Professor in ECE Department, NITTTR Chandigarh since 2019-2022. Earlier, he worked as Assistant Professor at NIT Jalandhar and IIITM Gwalior from 2011 to 2019. He did B. Tech, Electronics Engineering (PTU Jalandhar) in 2004, M. Tech-Microelectronics (PU Chandigarh) in 2006 and Ph.D-VLSI Design (IIT Roorkee), India in 2010. For further research work, European Commission awarded him Mobility of life research fellowship for postdoc research work at University of Rome, Tor Vergata, Italy in 2010-2011.  He also worked as visiting researcher at KTH university Sweden, Oct-Nov. 2013. Dr. Raj received best teacher’s award from ISTE New Delhi, in July 2013. Dr. Raj has published more than 100 research papers in international/national journals and conferences. His areas of interest in research are Nanoscale Semiconductor Device Modeling, sensors design, FinFET based Memory design, Low Power VLSI Design.
