She is currently working as Supervisor for Guidance, Navigation and Control Systems at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
She started her career at NASA as an intern.
She started working as a full-time employee at JPL on Cassini Mission. The mission was at its final stages when she joined.
Cassini Mission is a 20 years long voyage in exploring the Saturn.
In 2013, she was engaged in the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover Mission. She was appointed as the Guidance, Navigation and Control Systems (GNC) Engineer.
Her role was to design the GNC subsystem of the rover and deploy the assembly and final launch of it. Then she became the guidance, navigation and control operations lead through out the launch, cruise and landing of the mission.
The Perseverance Rover touched down the Martian surface on February 18, 2021. She was responsible for maneuvering the complex entry of the space craft into the Martian Orbit.
When asked about what made her to pursue her career in space, she says, that when she was a kid, she was inspired by the Star Trek series.
