The Medical Electronics department of M.S. Ramaiah Institute Of Technology organized a visit to Sankara Eye Hospital, Bangalore, Karnataka, on 20^th April,2015.

Sankara Hospital is a 255 bed eye facility hospital and is among one of the foremost eye care hospitals in Bangalore. The hospital is equipped to complete entire family’s eye care needs from routine eye care examination to the latest advances in medical care, including LASIK Laser treatment and eye surgery.

We got to learn that it is not only equipped with latest in diagnostic including Ultrasound, Lasers, Digital Angiography, Electro-diagnostic services but it also provides a comprehensive service to its patients. Facilities like preventive, curative and rehabilitative were amongst the speciality services of Sankara Eye Hospital. Some of the services provided includes routine check-up, diagnostic, clinical laboratory, pharmacy, cataract and IOL clinic, cornea and refractive services, vitreo-retinal services, glaucoma, ophthalmology and strabismus, ocularistry department, ocular department.

The visit was successful in providing the students to further enhance their interest in the field of ophthalmology and the instruments used in this field and provide solution to the complex challenges that are encountered everyday in this field.
