The session begun at 09:30 am with the invocation song by Achala. All the dignitaries were welcomed. They lit the lamp. Then followed by the Key note talk by Dr. Bernard Allan Cohen on “Medical and Biomedical Ethics and Professional Responsibilities”. He spoke about the ethics required in the Biomedical profession.  Followed which , we had a talk by Dr. Nandakumar, Head Research and IPR, Division of Research and Patents, M S Ramaiah Medical College and Hospitals. His topic was “Ontology for assessing (a/the) potential (or) new technology / device for bio-medical applications”.

Then, we had a talk by Prof. Gundu Rao on “Predictive and Preventive Health: Integration of Emerging Technology”. His talk  included the topic on usage of small data. Later, we had a talk by Dr. Shyam Vasudeva Rao on “Eradication of blindness due to prematurity – WISE ROP system solution”. His topic was focused on WISE-ROP system solution which has been developed to address the challenge of inadequate number of trained specialists to screen and treat a condition that affects the vision of premature babies, called Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP).

We had talk by Dr. NS Murthy, Professor and Research Coordinator (Adjunct Prof. University of Tampere, Finland) M S Ramaiah Medical College and Hospitals, Bangalore.  Next, it was followed by GE Healthcare Expert Suresh Kumar R, who is the site executive for life care solutions team in GE.

Eventually the talk was delivered by  DR. Ravi Ramaswamy, Head, Philips Innovation Center, (Healthcare division) on “Frugal Innovation – Innovating for India.

Lastly the session was concluded by Dr. Allan Cohen on Intraoperative Neurophysiology. His DLP topics were Electroencephalography, Iatrogenic surgery, etc.,
