The session was organized by IEEE EMB Bangalore chapter in association with IEEE EMB MSRIT chapter at M.S.Ramaiah Institute of Technology.

MrNagendraPrasad ,CEO for the startup company iDOCMedsolutions addressed the students from Medical Electronics Dept.His qualifications are B.E mech and MS in BITS Pilani and worked in HAL HMT L &T and Hindujagroup.MrNagendra Prasad has +35 years of industryexperience and have voluntarily contributed to student community both at MSRIT and PESIT. He has passion for developing cost effective medical products to Indian community and develop a team of engineers to grow up as entrepreneurs or work to develop medical products.

Mr Nagendra Prasad detailed the students regarding how to deal with our projects and evolution concept of dealing our project. He briefed the students the series of process, the first PRE CONCEPT and CONCEPT that is everyone should study and learn the concept and have a full view of it. Then students should have FEASIBILITY and DEVELOPMENT. He told that the students should look after the feasibility part and find possible ways to develop their project .He included that QUALITY of the project is important. The last thing that he mentioned was TESTING of the project which is to be kept in mind.

The above codes were described by him. He included in his sayings that these were the key points to the success of an individual life.

Mr.Nagendra divided all the interested students under three groups and distributed project for each group.He briefed us about the following projects.

ENDOSCOPY/LAPAROSCOPY

Endoscopy and laparoscopy are diagnostic procedures performed to be able to visualize the innermost areas in the body that are not visible to the naked eyes. Endoscopy of the upper alimentary canal is a procedure that permits the physician commonly gastroenterologist, to assess the swallowing tube , duodenum using a flexible thin tube all the way through the walls of stomach ,duodenum and esophagus which can be visualized by using a monitor. Laproscopy is the straight visualization of whole abdominal cavity by using an instrument called laproscope.This device looks like a mini telescope with a fibre optic caliper system which conveys light inside the abdomen

NEUROLOGY

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of nervous system. Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving central and peripheral nervous system.

He mainly focused on paralysis,cause and its effective measures. He wanted to find alternative measures and to modify and bring about cost effective instruments to cure the deadly disease.

CPAP

Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Therapy(CPAP)uses a machine to help a person who has obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) breathe more easily during sleep. A CPAP machine increases air pressure in the throat so that the airway doesn’t collapse when the person breathes in.

CONCLUSION :

The session was very lively and inspiring to students. Mr Nagendra Prasad was very friendly and made the environment enthusiastic. He created a timeline for all the projects so that students take up the responsibilities on time.
