PCB D-CODED

In a world where most of our daily appliances and equipments use electronics, sensors and sophisticated computer technologies, it’s important to have a component like PCB that can keep up with the demand. PCB Designing is an integral part of any Electronic Gadget or Robotics. Learning to design a circuit board and understanding the logic behind it will open up the doors of innovation for you.
To explore the numerous functions of this complex piece of technology, IEEE Student Branch NIT Durgapur is here with “PCB D-CODED” a two-day workshop aimed at understanding the importance of Printed Circuit Boards and learning the basics of PCB Designing.

PCB D-Coded

IEEE SB NIT DGP recently conducted ‘PCB D-CODED’, a hands-on workshop on the basics of circuit design over a course of two sessions on the 10th and 11th of September, 2022 with the intent of giving their participants a platform to explore and get acquainted with the fundamental functionalities of the electrical circuits of the printed circuit board. PCB D-CODED started off with massive excitement and energy as over 100+ participants gathered in the lecture hall to get familiar with the subtle science underlying circuits and circuit design that serves to shape our everyday life.

Day 1: PCB D-CODED started with a basic understanding of PCBs and some of the terminologies associated with them. The participants were introduced to the understanding of the functional importance of connection pins, and the utility of the reset button amongst other pivotal elements of PCB Designing. To begin with, participants were taught how to install and use the KiCAD software to virtually design a PCB. They were acquainted with multiple components of the board such as the grounding pins, the basic connection of wires, and how to import them into their virtual environments so they can be used to design a PCB efficiently.

Day 2: When we further explored the depths of PCB circuits, many participants had their doubts but thanks to the marvellous coordination and teaching by the senior executives, the team seamlessly clarified all of their queries along the way. After going through this wonderful journey of understanding the magic that goes behind the scenes of our daily devices, we reached the end of our workshop where everyone had gained a lot in terms of knowledge.

Finally, the participants got a project which would make for a valuable addition to their CVs. The workshop had tremendous participation from students of NIT DGP who enthusiastically gave their input which made our event a huge success. With that,
we IEEE SB NITDGP concluded our two-day workshop “PCB D-CODED”.
