IEEE AWARENESS PROGRAMME
An IEEE AWARENESS PROGRAMME was conducted on 1STJuly 2019.The main motive of the programme was to notify the students with the benefits of IEEE organization.
The programme began with a valuable speech by Dr.Soma Prathibha , Advisor IEEE –CS SBC. She felicitated the chief guest Mr Eniyan, Student Lead –IEEE TEMS INDIA.
He also enlightened the students about the core benefits of IEEE followed by a interactive session on essential technical Information, networking opportunities, career development tools, and many other exclusive benefits .
The students were motivated to take part in various IEEE competitions and volunteering activities so as to enhance their professional skillsets.
WEBINAR ON IOT AND ML
A webinar was organised on 16thOctober 2019 at the college campus in smart class room on the topic “IOT and ML”.
All the 2nd year students of information technology were a part of elucidative programme. The webinar started with the introduction of BOLT-IOT. It was followed by an exalting demonstration of advances in IOT.
The speaker mentioned the necessity of the course and job opportunities in the field of IOT for students .The speaker also pointed out the importance of the trending technologies. It was an informative session.
EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAMME
The IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter, Sri Sai Ram Engineering College organized an “Educational Outreach Programme “on 18th July 2019 at R.C.M Higher Secondary School, Dharkast , Chennai. The main motive of the program was to notify the 11th standard students with the basics of C programming.
The program was organised by Dr.Soma Prathibha , Advisor IEEE –CS SBC. Around 22 students from Sri Sairam Engineering College went there to train the students .
The students were provided with kits containing a notepad, file and a pen. The students were divided into groups of 12 and were trained about the basic of C language. One student were selected from these 12 groups and were conducted a quiz competition.Later the top five students were selected and were given certificates and prices .
It gave a wonderful experience for the students as well as the trainees.
EVENTS - 2018
A one day Computer Awareness programme was organised by IEEE Computer Society to create awareness among the students who belong to rural areas, about basic knowledge in Microsoft Office on 13th February , 2018.
There were 108 students participating in this program. The program was organized in Government Higher Secondary School, Thandalam, Perumbakkam.
The students were provided with basic knowledge in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Paint and were also given hands-on training.
The students who gave their active participation were give small attractive gifts in order to encourage their volunteering activities.
IOT Workshop by “ONE YES TECHNOLOGIES” was conducted to create awareness among the students, held on 14th february to 15th february.
A workshop on “MOBILE APP DEVELOPMENT” was held from 27th january to 28th january which focused on the history and importance of android in our day to day life.
A SEMINAR on “USER INTERFACE DESIGN USING ANGULAR 4” was conducted to create awareness among students about user interface design which was held on 10th March.
EVENTS - 2017
The Inaugural function of IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter was held on 17th Feb, 2017 at Sigma Auditorium, Sri Sairam Engineering College.
Mr. Prasanth Mohan was the chief guest. Dr. C. V. Jayakumar Principal of Sri Sairam Engineering College, Head Of The Department (IT) Dr. T. Sheela, Asst. Prof. & Advisor of IEEE Student Branch Chapter Ms. Soma Prathibha with faculty members and students graced the function.
Dr. T. Sheela Madam delivered a welcome speech and the special address was given by our beloved principal Dr. C. V. Jayakumar Sir. The keynote was given by Asst. Prof. & Advisor of IEEE Student Branch Chapter Ms. Soma Prathibha Madam. Mr. Prasanth Mohan took a seminar on “IEEE Computer Society- Student Branch Chapter”. He gave a fair amount of idea on the IEEE Society and the benefits of the IEEE Membership.
Around 250 students actively participated in the event and very enthusiastic till the end of the event.
As a kick start-off of inaugural function, a technical quiz was conducted.
The IEEE SSEC also conducted an Educational Outreach Program on 1st March 2017. The main objective of the program was to make the school students aware of the Ms Office.
The IEEE members taught the students about Ms Office Word, Ms Excel, Ms PowerPoint and other Ms Office products. Hands-on sessions and CAREER GUIDANCE program was given.
Awareness about SWACHH BHARAT and LATEST TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENTS were given. As a whole, the program came out of flying colors.
