Technology in association with M-Apps club jointly with SSEC IEEE CS SBC, SEC IEEE
SB & IEEE Madras Section Young Professionals conducted an interactive session on
opportunities for students and young professionals in IEEE.
The vibrant speaker of the session was Dr. Adil Usman, PhD, Senior Member IEEE
Postdoctoral Researcher, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) US Department of
Energy. This program was conducted for 2nd year IT students at VRR Hall. The event
commenced at 2:00 PM with an introductory speech by Ms. Anurega T R and Mr.
Dwaraknath K. The delegates Dr. Sheela T/ HOD – IT, Dean N/W, Dr. Soma Prathibha,
Chapter Advisor/ IEEE CS SBC, Vice Chair – IEEE MAS WIE AG and Ms. Juno Bella,
Coordinator – M Apps Club honored the speaker of the day Dr. Adil Usman with a shawl and
memento. This was followed by the special address delivered by Dr. Sheela, HOD of
Information Technology Department. Then the speaker Dr. Adil Usman took over the session.
Opportunities that are available for Students and Young Professionals in IEEE were put out
wonderfully by the speaker by spreading awareness to all the 2nd years present there. He also
added more points related to grants, scholarship, and awards available through IEEE and
insisted the students to get benefitted out of them. To keep the students engaged, QnA
sessions were conducted at the end. The students were attentive and interactive. The students
were asked to give feedback regarding the session and vote of thanks from Mr. Niranjan
Kumar S, Chairperson – IEEE CS SBC, Chair – SAC SB, Student Execom Member – IEEE
MAS WIE AG. The program was successfully completed at 04:00 PM with the National Anthem.

kick-started at 10:00 AM where Dr. Soma Prathibha, the Chapter Advisor of the
SSEC IEEE CS SB Chapter, greeted the gathering through her welcome note.
The remarkable speaker of today’s webinar was Mr. Gnana Padmesh C.K,
Documentation Lead, IEEE Computer Society SBC. He manifested his ideas on
moving towards 6G, its benefits, the various Software’s used, and its applications.
he also elucidated the details of 6G and it’s working. The interactive session on a
technological expedition about 6G was informative. Meanwhile, he sorted out all
the queries raised by the students thus illuminating them.
Eventually, Mr. Niranjan Kumar S, the Chairperson of SSEC IEEE CS SBC
delivered the Vote of thanks and wrapped up this Webinar joyfully. Overall, the
session was fruitful to the young creative fellowship.

Engineering College successfully organized an informative Seminar on the theme Advent of Start-Up Era on 29th March 2022. The event unfolded by the welcome address rendered by Mr Gnana Padmesh C K.
By virtue of this webinar, Mr Balaji outlined how to make start-up with a small idea. How to get financial support and shared about his own journey. The session was so interactive that the students answered a couple of questions asked by the speaker. He also added ingenious and valuable insights
regarding Entrepreneurship. He has provided many real-time examples for a better understanding of the concept.
All of the students questions were answered and the speakers provided them with valuable
insights

The Department of Information Technology in association with the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of Sri Sairam Engineering College successfully conducted a 2-day hands-on workshop on Deep Learning of which the first day was conducted on 10th November 2022 and second day was conducted on 17th November 2022.
Day 1:
The event kick-started at 10:00AM where Dr. Soma Prathibha, the Chapter Advisor of the SSEC IEEE CS SB Chapter, Dr. Rene Robin and Dr. Adiline Macriga greeted the gathering and felicitated the guest.
The remarkable speaker of the event’s first day was Dr D Doreen Robin M.E., Ph.D., Founder & Director, Computational Intelligence Research Foundation (CIRF). She briefed the gathering about the use of Python in the field of data science and machine learning in the morning session. In the afternoon session, the participants had a hands-on experience on data analysis and data visualization techniques in Python.
In the end, a Mentimeter quiz was conducted to test the understanding of the participants in a fun way. Thus, the Day 1 of the Learn-O-Mania workshop was concluded.
Day 2:
The jubilant speaker of the morning session was Dr. A. Alice Nithya, Associate Professor, Department of Computational Intelligence, School of Computing, SRM Institute of Science and Technology. Dr. Sheela Thavasi, Head of Department, Department of Information Technology, Sri Sairam Engineering College welcomed the gathering and felicitated the guests. The guest talked about Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and gave an introduction on Deep Learning Architecture. Later in the session, the participants were given Hands-on training on building a Machine Learning using various Python libraries.
The wonderful speaker of the evening session was Dr. Swagata Sarkar, Professor and Head, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Sri Sairam Engineering College. Dr. Soma Prathibha, the Chapter Advisor of the SSEC IEEE CS SB Chapter felicitated the guest. The speaker spoke about deep learning in detail and hands-on training was given to the participants on MATLAB with explanation. In the end, a Mentimeter quiz was conducted to test the understanding of the participants in a fun way.
The session was concluded by Niranjan Kumar S, Chair Person, IEEE CS SBC, who delivered the vote of thanks. Certificates were provided to the participants who attended both the days of the workshop.

The event kickstarted at 12.20 pm. Dr Soma Prathibha, Chapter Advisor of SSEC IEEE CS SBC and Dr Sankari, Chapter Advisor of SSEC IEEE EDUSOC SBC welcomed the gathering through the welcome note.
Firstly the instructions were given to the participant teams regarding the rules and regulations of the event.
The first round consisted of connection puzzles on various topics including IEEE, Technology, SQL and Movie dialogues. Participants had to rise their hands to answer. The first team to rise was given the chance to answer. The top scoring 8 teams were selected for the second and final round.
In the second round teams where given incomplete SQL queries which they had to fill by miming the answer for the blanks to their partner. The top 3 teams from the second round were declared as winners.

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
TECHNOVACION’22 is a 3 Day Global Project Manifestation held on 16-05-2022 to 18-05-2022 conducted by the Department of IT and Sri Sairam Engineering College IEEE CS SBC in association with SSEC IEEE Educational Society, MIT Square and Coding Ninjas and Sponsored by IEEE SPAx and IEEE Inspire India. The first day started with a great zeal. The grand inaugural of the event took place on 16th May 2022. There were more than 300 gatherings who joined in both virtual and offline mode. Honourable Dr. Sheela Thavasi, HOD, IT Department greeted the gathering. International Speakers like Ms Nita Patel, IEEE CS 2023 President Elect, Dr. Adil Usman, Senior member, IEEE Associate Member of MP-IDSA, Ministry of Defense, Govt. of India addressed the gathering. Later Dr. Soma Prathiba, SSEC IEEE CS SBC Chapter Advisor, Dr. Sankari S, SSEC IEEE EDUSOC Chapter Advisor and Dr. Brindha, SSEC IEEE SB Counsellor gave a clear information regarding this colossal event. Later, Mr. Aravindhan Anbazhagan, Founder and CEO, EduRiseGlobal & Chairperson, IEEE Young Professional Madras Section 2021 rendered an inspiring PEP TALK on “Role of STEM for Rural Development.”
Once the hackathon kickstarted, participants began to prepare for their first round of idea presentation. They were split up into teams and their ideas were evaluated based upon 5 criteria by the Jury Panel. After which a fun event was conducted for the refreshment of the participants. The next day, 17th May 2022, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, A Webinar on the topic “Kickstart on Dreams to Products – The Impelling Progress” was presented by Mr Shyam Kumar M, Founder and CEO, Vision, Mr Nirmal Raja, Computer Vision, Core Team Head and Ms Kirthiga M, Embedded Core Team Head. From 1:00 PM, the teams were asked to demonstrate their ideas which were then evaluated and examined thoroughly by our external & internal judges based on their idea implementation, Level of innovation, technicalities, Feasibility and Market Adaptability. Once the round 2 demonstration was completed successfully, the same day participants were surprised with a refreshing fun activity which was a stress buster to the participants.
The day 3 of Technovacion’22, Valedictory event took place on 18th May 2021 and Ms Narmadha, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, Event Coordinator addressed the gathering with a warm welcome note. This valedictory event was led by the Chief Guest Mr. Navaneetha Krishnan, Chair – IEEE SSIT and Mr. Harish Srinivasan, Co-founder, Infinite Engineers boosted our students through their euphonious oration. After a meticulous scrutinization of prototypes, the jury panel decided the top 10 teams of Technovacion’22 which were announced during the prize distribution of the valedictory event. Later the winners were awarded with Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000, Rs. 2000 individually. Brief Description: The IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of Sri Sairam
Engineering College successfully organized an informative Webinar on the theme "Data
Analytics in Business" on 16th March 2022. The event unfolded by the welcome address
rendered by SSEC IEEE CS SB chapter advisor at 6:30 PM.
By virtue of this webinar, Ms Aishwarya outlined what Data Analytics is. How it is helpful in the
field of Business and related fields. The session was so interactive that the students answered a
couple of questions asked by the speaker. She also added ingenious and valuable insights
regarding analytics in marketing using Data Science. She has provided many real-time examples
for a better understanding of the concept.
All of the students’ questions were answered and the speakers provided them with valuable
insights

Brief description: SSEC IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter conducted an award event titled “Extramilers” on 18th February 2022. SSEC IEEE CS SBC Chapter Advisor Dr. Soma Prathibha welcomed the guest of Honour and the participants. During this event, there were two key note sessions by our guests and the honorary awards were distributed to the chapter members. The first key note session by Ms. Ramalatha Marimuthu valuable insights into the opportunities provided by IEEE, how to build a good team with better coordination, organizing and conducting a proper event with a perfect team consisting of content writers, professional designers and other proficient skills. As a part of her presentation, She shared some suggestions on obtaining funding for events. Overall, the session was about enhancement of IEEE. The second key note session was by Mr. Ashvanth B. The speaker emphazised on his journey in IEEE from the beginning as an individual member and also as a student of Ramalatha Marimuthu. As the session came to a close, students had the opportunity to talk with the speaker and have their questions answered.The next segment of the event was award distribution. There were a total of 23 categories under which the awards were distributed. After successful distribution of awards, SSEC IEEE SB counsellor Mrs. Brinda congratulated each and every student and insisted everyone student to contribute more and improve their skills. Mr. Sai Palanivel K, Design committee lead of SSEC IEEE CS SB received great appreciation for amazing posters made for the entire event including the award posters. Following that final year students Ms. Akshaya B and Ms. Medha M shared their beautiful journey in IEEE and motivated their juniors to improve their talents. Brief Description:
In order to familiarize the fresh engineers about IEEE and its benefits, the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter at Sri Sairam Engineering College organised an awareness program titled “SIEEED To LEAD II” for the first year Students of our college. Dr. Soma Prathibha, Advisor, SSEC IEEE CS SBC, opened the evening with a warm welcome note. Later the session was handled by our Guest Speaker, Mr. Abdul Halik, who took enormous efforts in emphasizing how IEEE Forum can transform one’s professional
life. It was followed by a question-and-answer period, where the students were able to interact with the guest speaker. The Ex-COMM presentation of SSEC IEEE CS SBC enabled the students to gain a better understanding of the SBC and the possibilities it provides. Ex-
COMM members kept the zealous participants entertained during the event by organizing tongue twisters and quizzes related to IEEE. The program ended with the Vote of Thanks by Mr. Niranjan Kumar S, the programming lead for the SSEC IEEE CS SBC. Overall, the event
was interactive, allowing students to gain knowledge about IEEE.
