ABOUT SOCIETY

The IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT) is dedicated to exploring how technology influences the world and can be harnessed for its betterment. SSIT addresses humanitarian engineering, environmental concerns like climate change and sustainable design, privacy and security, economic implications, engineering ethics, education, technology history, public policy, healthcare technology, energy reliability, and societal impacts of information technology. This encompasses technology’s effects on society, the reciprocal influence of society on engineering, the historical context of electro technology’s societal aspects, and ethical and economic responsibilities in engineering practice.
