EXPERT TALK ON VISIONARY ON IOT AND PATENT FILING

An informative session on Cloud Computing and patent filing was held on 21/12/2021 by the TEMS Society of Sri Sairam Engineering College as a means to spread the knowledge and increase the employability of bussing engineers as Internet Of things andPatent filing for budding engineers and innovators is the trend in today’s market.

HANDS ON TRAINING ON MACHINE LEARNING USING PYTHON

On November 27, 2021, the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems, in collaboration with the IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society Student Branch Chapter, organized an online webinar titled “Hands-On Training on Machine Learning Using Python.” The event began at 10:00 AM with a welcome address by Dr. M. Ananthi. With an attendance of 120 students from the first and second years, the session aimed to introduce the fundamentals of machine learning and its application in Python programming.

The guest speaker, Mr. Arunjith Chowdhury, CEO of Enterprise Building Training Solutions, provided an engaging overview of machine learning, discussing its benefits, requirements, and various applications. His interactive approach allowed students to ask questions, enhancing their understanding of the topic. The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Gayathri Varsha A S, the Student Coordinator, marking the event as a fruitful experience for all participants.

WORKSHOP ON STATISTICAL ANALYSIS USING PYTHON

A hands-on session on Statistical Analysis using python session was held on 21/10/2021 by the TEM Society of Sri Sairam Engineering College as a means to spread the knowledge and increase the employability of bussing engineers as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is the trend in today’s market.
Mr.V.C Krishnan from Tata Consultancy Services was the resource person of the event , provided a lot of insightful information and threw light on topics such as machine learning,artificial intelligence and it’s prerequisites such as Basics of Python and tools required for such statistical analysis
The session finally was winded up after a question and answer session ,where all the doubts of the students were cleared.

HANDS ON TRAINING ON WEB DEVELOPMENT AND VLSI DESIGN

Forenoon Session: Students from IRT Polytechnic College attended hands-on training in Web Development and VLSI Technology, with 27 and 26 participants, respectively. The sessions were led by second-year CSBS students for Web Development and ECE students for VLSI, with refreshments and lunch provided by the management.

Afternoon Session: The afternoon session featured a valedictory function at BETA HALL, attended by Mr. Kumarappan (IEEE Madras Section Chairman), Dr. Rajendra Prasad (Dean of Student Affairs, SSEC), Mr. Porkumaran (Principal, SSEC), and Mr. Ravikiran Annaswamy (IEEE TEMS VP, virtually). Certificates were awarded to quiz winners by the chief guests and the Dean of Student Affairs.

WEB DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP & EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The SSEC TEMS SBC along with SSEC IEEE CS organized the IEEE day events along with activities at Sri Sairam Matriculation Higher Secondary School on the 13th of October 2021. The student participants were from grade 9 and 11 and the number of participants were around 100 students, and participated in the activities conducted by the IEEE CS and TEMS SBC such as web designing basics(workshop and quiz), group discussion and channel surfing. This enabled the students to hone both their technical and soft skills which was a great opportunity to learn, create and execute. The winners of the respective activity/competition were rewarded with cash awards, and the event was a grand success. The gathering was later addressed by the Dr.M.Ananthi, HOD CSBS Department / IEEE TEMS ADVISOR who encouraged the students and the end talk by Dr.Soma Prathiba,IEEE CS SBC Advisor/ IT Department.
