Details (remarks, beneficiaries, etc.)On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we the team members from Women in Engineering Affinity group (WIE), IEEE Pune Section in association with WIE Student Branch Affinity groups of SICSR and MIT-ADT,  planned poster making and essay writing competition to celebrate the same. The topics for the Poster making competition were:  

  1. Marvellous women of all time/women role model  
  2. One woman many roles  
  3. Women in the workplace: breaking the glass ceiling and challenges. 
  4. Respect women: End violence against women 
  5. Women in Tech 

The topic of the essay writing competition was: If you could influence the government to take action on one issue to improve the lives of women/girls what it would be? And the submissions were allowed in three languages, i.e. English, Hindi, Marathi. There were prizes given to the winners separately for both the competitions worth 1500 for the 1st prize winnera prize worth 1000 for the runner up for poster making. And in the essay a prize worth 1500 for the Winner, 500 each for runner ups and consolation prizes were given. The registration was free for everyone and an E- certificate was provided to all participants who submitted the posters and essays. The results were declared on 8th March 2021 for both competitions through email for the poster making competition by SICSR and through a zoom meeting for the essay writing competition by MIT-ADT. unner up was Simeen Khan Ayyub.

For the essay writing competition, 1st prize winner was Mannat Sharma and there were two runner ups Adarsh Rai and Shatakshi Vishwakarma, along these two consolation prizes were given to Sowmya J and Sheryl Mathew Thoppil.
