The inaugural session was held on December 2, 2021. The anchor for the event, Ms. Gayatri

Venugopal, Assistant Professor, Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research,

Symbiosis International (Deemed University), welcomed the participants and esteemed

dignitaries. This was followed by a virtual lamp lighting ceremony.

Prof. Dr. JatinderKumar R. Saini, General Chair, 2021 IEEE Second International

Conference on TEMSMET spoke about the conference and also about IEEE as being the

largest technology-oriented organization, and how Pune city has grown as an IT hub. Dr.

Saini also mentioned that Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research completed

37 years since its foundation.

Prof. Dr. Dhanya Pramod, Dean, Faculty of Computer Studies, Symbiosis International

(Deemed University), spoke about the latest trends in technology. Dr. Pramod also spoke

about TEMSMET and how the conference would help in strengthening the connection

between entrepreneurship and technology.

Mr. Girish Khilari, Chair, IEEE Pune section, spoke about the social impact of TEMSMET,

and how TEMS will bring all these areas together. Mr. Khilari spoke about the establishment

of the IEEE Pune Section and the various activities carried as part of this initiative.

Honourable Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro-Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed

University), spoke about the impact of technology on humanity. She emphasised on the

importance of the societal application of concepts taught to students. She also spoke about

keeping this aspect in mind while designing the curriculum.
