IEEE WIE SPSU Inauguration and Poster Making Competition
On October 1st, 2024, the IEEE Sir Padampat Singhania University Student Branch celebrated the inauguration of the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group, a landmark initiative aimed at empowering women in STEM and fostering diversity in technology.
As part of the inaugural celebrations, the women members of the IEEE SPSU Student Branch, in collaboration with the faculty coordinator, organized a Poster Making Competition on October 27th, 2024. The competition centered around the theme “Engaging More Women in AI and 4IR Technologies,” highlighting the pivotal role women play in driving advancements in Artificial Intelligence and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The event saw vibrant participation from students, who showcased their creativity and vision through impactful and thought-provoking posters. These works reflected innovative ideas and the significance of gender inclusivity in shaping the future of technology.
After a rigorous evaluation process, three winners were announced:
- First Place: Rajula Aurshitha Reddy, Wasfa Haider Kazmi, and Jyoti Pandey winning first place
- Second Place: T. Neeharika, B. Spurthi, and V. Vasavi in second place
- Third Place: Vennela, G. Lekha Sri, N. Valli Sri Lakshmi, and V. Pallavi in third
The winning posters exemplified the theme, promoting women’s success in AI and 4IR technologies and inspiring greater inclusivity in the tech landscape.
The competition concluded with words of encouragement from the faculty coordinator, who commended the participants for their efforts and emphasized the importance of creating platforms that celebrate women’s contributions to technological innovation.
The inauguration of the IEEE WIE SPSU and the successful organization of the Poster Making Competition marked a significant step in engaging and empowering women, fostering a community dedicated to inclusivity, creativity, and excellence in STEM fields.
