The Ultimate Talk

(Public Speaking Competition)

17^th Sept 2015

The IEEE Students Branch of our college had organized a competition in search of the best speaker in the campus. The objective was to find out the speaker among the students which is fluent, effective, knowledgeable, and interactive and who delivers his thoughts really well. The winner of grand finale was Ms. Shraddha Rikhe from Second Year Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering and the Runner up was Ms. Vinita Rathi from First Year Engineering.

The details of the event are as follows:

First Screening round: The registered candidates were screened on the basis of their communication skills. The participants were asked to deliver a small talk of about five to seven minutes on the topics like Politics, Curiosity, Nothing, Magic of smile, etc. The top twelve candidates out of twenty six were selected for the final round of the competition.

Second Screening round: In the second phase, shortlisted candidates were asked to deliver a talk on some other topics. The top five competitors were selected for the grand finale of this competition.

The Grand Finale: The top five shortlisted candidates were asked to deliver a talk of ten to fifteen minutes on topic of their choice. This finale was organized on 16^th September, 2015 in swadhyaya kaksha at 6:00 PM. The judges for this event were Prof. P. R. Wankhede Sir, Prof. S. V. Bhagat Sir and Prof. K. R. Gandhare Sir. The participants were judged on parameters like confidence, fluency, connection with audience, and content. The winner of the competition was Ms. Shraddha Rikhe and Runner up was Ms. Vinita Rathi. The winner was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 1000, a memento and certificate of excellence. The runner up was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 500, a memento and certificate of excellence.

The organizing committee is thankful to Principal Dr. S. B. Somani Sir, Faculty advisor Prof. P. R. Wankhede Sir, The Judges Prof. S. V. Bhagat Sir and Prof. K. R. Gandhare Sir for their support and constant encouragement. The event was success and praised by everyone.
