Deadline is extended! If you wish to participate as auditor, you can send your abstract by 8th September!

We are pleased to invite you to the inaugural of the ‘Researchers flash talk challenge’ event, organized by the IEEE Student Branch of Bologna under the patronage of Unibo and in collaboration with  ARIC, ART-ER, BI-REX, MINERVA, and INFN.

The event gives PhD students and Post-Doc the opportunity to improve their public speech and compete for delivering the best presentation.

How will it work?

The event comprises two parts:

  1. Online workshop (3 October, 10.00-13.00): Held by communication experts from ART-ER, this workshop will provide valuable insights and techniques for effectively communicating your research as a pitch.  The workshop is closed to the selected participants – the link will be provided later.
  2. In-presence event (11 October, 10:00 to 17.00, approx): Participants will be invited to BI-REX for a guided tour, then attend a roundtable session held by experts in the field of Open Science. Finally, after an interactive lunch, the participants will present their research in a 5-minute presentation as taught in the online workshop. The day will conclude with the awards ceremony.

Why participate?

The goal of the event is to teach participants to present their research topics in a simple, concise, and impactful manner, thanks to the training session held by experts in the field. It will also be an opportunity to network and discover job opportunities and collaborations with other researchers and entities!

Who is invited?

The invitation is open to any PhD students and PostDoc whose research topics fit within at least one of the IEEE Societies. The event also extends to nearby Universities.

Do you want to participate as an auditor in the competition? Fill the dedicated form! Presentations are open to everyone who wants to attend!

How to be selected?

It’s simple: fill the form.
We will select about 15 participants based on the clarity of explanation of the research topic and the interest according to the collaborations/internships/job opportunities that are likely to be discovered during the event thanks to the organizers (especially BI-REX and INFN).

We look forward to your participation! We are excited to learn about your research and help you enhance your communication skills!
