During the GITEX Global Conference: The Hashemite University ranked second in the international competition held by the IEEE R8 Entrepreneurship Committee
A student team from the Hashemite University achieved second place in the international competition in its final stage, which was held by the IEEE R8 entrepreneurship committee to support entrepreneurship and innovation among students and youth during the GITEX GLOBAL conference and exhibition in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
This competition began a year ago in several stages with broad international participation of about (52) teams from Europe, the Arab region and Africa, representing Region 8 of the IEEE.
The student team that came up with the creative idea consisted of: Khaled Al-Bosta, Muhammad Al-Aissa, Muhammad Al-Zaghoul, and Hussein Washah from the College of Engineering – Mechatronics, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Awni Atradat, Vice President of the University, and Professor Dr. Muhammad Salah from the Faculty of Engineering.
Professor Dr. Fawaz Al-Abdulhaq Al-Zaboun, President of the University, expressed his pride in this international student achievement, which confirms the capabilities of our young university students to compete in all forums locally and internationally, and demonstrates that the university’s strategy of providing a stimulating environment for students will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening their self-belief and their ability to prove themselves and support and provide Strengthening the nation’s economies.
Vice President of the University for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Professor Dr. Awni Atradat, praised the pioneering idea that the students participated in during the stages of the competition over the past months, designing, coordinating, developing, programming, and modeling to simulate market requirements and be a transferable model for a startup company that can be launched in the market.
The winning students confirmed that the international competition held by the IEEE Entrepreneurship R8 Challenge is at the forefront of competitions that transform ideas into successful businesses, and contributes to helping contestants not only launch their projects, but also develop them and facilitate communication and guidance for those who have a passion to translate their vision into reality. tangible.
The Hashemite University team was one of the three teams that qualified for the final in Dubai to compete in front of an international judging team. It was held during the GITEX Global Conference to indicate the importance of the international competition.
Various countries of the world, companies, institutions and governments participated in the exhibition, especially companies concerned with technology solutions, engineering, information technology, communications, computing, artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things and other technologies.
