Introduced in the 2021/2022 academic year, the IEEE HU Members Club has become a biannual gathering aimed at enriching the experiences of our members. This initiative provides an exclusive forum for members to come together, exchange ideas, and delve deeper into the benefits of IEEE membership. Through informative sessions and engaging discussions, attendees gain valuable insights and knowledge relevant to their fields of interest.

Saifur Rahman – Former IEEE President

Biography

He is a Fellow of the IEEE and an IEEE Millennium Medal winner. He is the founding editor-in-chief of the IEEE Electrification Magazine and the IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy. He has served as a vice president of the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) from 2008 to 2013. and a 2022 IEEE President-Elect.

IEEE President Prof. Saifur Rahman Visited the Hashemite University Student Branch

On the first of September 2023, the IEEE Hashemite University Student Branch is delighted to announce the successful hosting of Prof. Saifur Rahman, President of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), from Virginia Tech, USA. This event took place in the presence of the Vice Dean of the College of Engineering and the Academic Advisors of the student branch IEEE|HU at Hashemite University.

This engaging session delved into advanced technological topics, fostering a productive dialogue and knowledge exchange with Prof. Saifur Rahman. Furthermore, we provided a historical overview of the journey of the IEEE|HU Student Branch since its inception, highlighting past activities and previewing what lies ahead in the upcoming year.

This valuable session marks a starting point toward a promising future filled with technological opportunities and challenges. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Saifur Rahman for this invaluable opportunity and look forward to further collaboration and hard work in pursuit of our shared goals in the field of engineering and technology.
