ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF IEEE SIGNAL PROCESSING SOCIETY STUDENT BRANCH CHAPTER – UOM
The inaugural Annual General Meeting 2020 of the newly established IEEE Signal Processing Society Student Branch Chapter of University of Moratuwa, concluded successfully virtually, via the Zoom online platform. The event was graced by Prof. Ruwan Gopura, the Chairman of IEEE Sri Lanka Section 2020 as the Guest of Honor and Dr. Chamira Edussooriya as the Staff Advisor of the newly established society. After the welcome address by the Interim Chairman, the Guest of Honor delivered his speech. The election of the new Executive Committee was conducted by the Vice-Chairman of the IEEE University of Moratuwa Student Branch Chapter. The newly elected and appointed Chairman of the IEEE Signal Processing Society Student Branch Chapter of University of Moratuwa, presented the year plan for the term 20/21 and the meeting was concluded with the vote of thanks by the Secretary of the society.

Dr. Chamira Edussooriya
Biography:
Dr. Chamira Edussooriya, the Staff Advisor for the IEEE Signal Processing Society Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa, attended the Annual General Meeting and delivered a speech covering the importance of signal processing and the usage of signal processing in multiple fields.
