IEEE PES DAY 2021

In conjunction with month of April, which has been regarded as PES month, IEEE UNITEN  Student Branch and IEEE UNITEN PES Student Branch took this opportunity to educate everyone on  the possible solutions and technological development in effort to slow down the climate change,  aligned with this year round’s theme of “Clean Energy Revolution” through IEEE PES Day 2021.

 IEEE PES Day 2021 is comprised of three parts and started off first with a sharing session  between IEEE Student Branch from other universities under Let’s Interact. The program successfully  garnered 13 participants who were willing to share their opinions on topic ‘Clean Energy’. Two best  speakers were chosen and gifted rewards for their overall performance. The highlight of IEEE PES Day  2021 was Women Power Talk Lecture 1: Promoting STEM for Sustainable and Clean Energy Future.  This talk is held on YouTube, emcee-ed by club’s chair, Mr. Afiq Baser. It was a very fruitful session to  undergraduates especially since the speaker for the day, Prof Emeritus Dr. Azah Mohamed shared  some ideas for Final Year Project (FYP). The session was concluded with a Q& time and students as  well as young professional were able to engage into the topic. IEEE PES Day 2021 ended with Kahoot  game session, where a total of 35 students participated in the program. The competition was held in  three rounds. Each round has 10 questions regarding clean energy. Participant who managed to  occupy the top 20 and top 10 proceeded to next stage and final round respectively. In the final round,  3 best participants were awarded with cash prizes.  

 The event was a total success despite being conducted virtually and IEEE UNITEN Student  Branch and IEEE UNITEN PES Student Branch thanks everyone who joined in any parts/category of  IEEE PES Day 2021.
