IEEE Pre-University Awareness Program

Our pre-university awareness program took place on the 24th of February, 2022. This program was targeted at young, impressionable secondary school students, with the sole purpose of introducing them to IEEE and STEM as a whole.

The student executives, along with some helpful volunteers, visited FUTO International School, Owerri (FISO). We spoke to the senior students, explaining who we were and our purpose. The chair, Odii Marshall, narrated his journey with IEEE and the benefits he had enjoyed with the institute.

In addition, the Robotics and Automation Society Chair, Ugochukwu Nwoke, encouraged the students to explore careers in STEM. He also educated them about the shift from STEM to STEAM, indicating the need for the arts in our society today.

At IEEE FUTO, we strongly believe in teamwork and the involvement of every person. Hence, we ensured that this program was highly interactive. The students were encouraged to participate and we responded to their questions and contributions.

With a photo op, we showcased the students of FISO as brilliant students gingered up and ready to impact the world around them.

The event was a massive success.
