CASS IEEE ENETCOM SBC, IAS IEEE ENETCOM SBC, and PES IEEE ENETCOM SBC organised the first session  of the highly anticipated event, “Smart Tech”.This session served as the beacon, guiding us into the dynamic world of IoT, and it was nothing short of exhilarating.

To commence our journey, we gathered for a brief yet insightful opening ceremony. During this ceremony, we took a deep dive into the very essence of this event. Our aim was to provide our participants with a comprehensive understanding of what lay ahead – a captivating exploration of the transformative power of IoT technology.

Creating a sense of community and camaraderie, we encouraged our new members to introduce themselves. It was heartening to witness individuals from diverse backgrounds coming together with a shared passion for IoT. These introductions laid the foundation for meaningful connections and collaborative learning throughout the event.

The highlight of the session was undoubtedly the start of our interactive workshop. Our esteemed trainer, armed with a wealth of knowledge in the field of IoT, kicked off the session by defining IoT. Participants were enlightened as IoT was demystified before their eyes.

To illustrate the real-world impact of IoT, we delved into a myriad of examples across various domains such as healthcare, agriculture, and more. It was fascinating to witness how IoT is revolutionizing these industries, enhancing efficiency, and improving the quality of life.

As the workshop progressed, the intricate architecture of IoT took shape. Key building blocks were unveiled, including the diverse spectrum of IoT devices. From general-purpose devices to specialized sensing devices and powerful processing nodes represented by microcontrollers, participants discovered the diverse toolkit at their disposal.

In a whirlwind tour of IoT communication protocols, we explored Bluetooth, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, NFC, LoRaWAN, and the expansive world of IoT cloud services. Understanding these protocols is vital in building robust IoT solutions.

The discussion then delved into the world of microcontrollers, where participants gained insights into how to choose the most suitable one for their projects, discerning common properties and differences. A brief introduction to assembly language offered a glimpse into the intricate workings of these devices.

Practical application of knowledge was a key aspect of our event. Participants had the opportunity to explore Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and engage in hands-on activities with devices like ESP32-led, IR sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and the cutting-edge NVIDIA Jetson developer kits. These activities allowed participants to put their newfound knowledge into action.
