The IEEE will be hosting an IEEE Xplore session at Northumbria University on Monday, 26th September 2016.
The session will review how to effectively use IEEE Xplore for patent research. Topics include an overview of prior art searching and what makes an innovation patentable. Plus, how to find the correct keywords and construct complex search strategies on IEEE Xplore to begin your patent investigation.
Presenting the session will be IEEE’s Paul Henriques. Paul is a Client Servics Manager for IEEE, serving clients in Europe, Africa and the United States. Previously Paul has worked as a patent searcher for the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) where he focused on prior art searching for patent examiners. In addition, Paul also tought classes with the Patent Training Academy at the USPTO, focusing on end user training for a variety of online intellectual property research tools.
The session will also give attendees the opportunity to learn more about Northumbria University’s IEEE Student Branch and activities – if not a member.
