North Tech-SAS 2022
Discovery Park 3940 N Elm St, DentonWelcome to the IEEE North Tech-SAS (Students Advancing Society) Summit! The flagship summit of the IEEE UNT Student Branch and IEEE-HKN Lambda Zeta chapter brings together students and professionals to showcase their works amongst peers and colleagues, while fostering creativity and inspiration. The summit will be hosted during Engineers Week February 21-26, 2022. Following the success of the first two years, the third annual North Tech-SAS (NTSAS) will be a hybrid event with in-person and virtual events. We will hold in-person viewings for virtual speakers and will be streaming the presentations live on virtual platforms. The IEEE-HKN Lambda Zeta chapter will be hosting a student poster competition with separate undergraduate and graduate tracks and open to all university students. Cash prizes totaling $1,500 will be awarded to the top three undergraduate and top three graduate presentations. We look forward to seeing all of you joining us in-person and virtually for some amazing talks and presentations!
Making a Career in Engineering Industry Talk
Join us on Tuesday, November 17th at 5:30pm for a talk by Chad Kidder. You've worked hard to get into a good college. You're working hard to get a good job. It's all smooth sailing after that, right? This presentation will discuss making a career of engineering that will keep you interested, energized, and maximize your enjoyment of life. Marketing and managing your career will be discussed along with how to make your career match your goals in life. Figuring out what makes you happy as an engineer and how to maximize your happiness will be covered. The impact of family on one's career, and one's career on family will also be discussed. Speaker Bio: Chad Kidder received his BS and MS in electrical engineering from Texas A&M. He is a licensed professional engineer in Texas. Since his graduation he has worked for large and small businesses, a university, and whoever he could help over the course of his career. He currently works for IMSAR, LLC in Springville, UT designing radars for UAVs and consults at Curious System Solutions, LLC doing whatever sounds fun that people approach him with. He is the former chair for the IEEE Utah section.
