Jaqueline is a biomedical doctor, Master in situs slot77 Biotechnology in Health and Investigative slot77 Medicine (PgBSMI) and PhD in Human and Experimental Pathology from the Federal University of Bahia. In addition, she is a member of ZIBRA, an itinerant project for genomic mapping of the Zika virus in Brazil.
In recent years, the northeastern has developed research at the Institute of Tropical Medicine of São Paulo – University of São Paulo (IMT-USP), within the framework of CADDE – (Brazil-UK Center for Arbovirus Discovery, Diagnosis, Genomics and Epidemiology )
At just 30 years old, she coordinated the team that sequenced the first genomes of the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) in Brazil, in just 48 hours after the confirmation of the first case (no other country managed this agility!). As a tribute to her and her incredible achievement, Jaqueline has her own character in Turma da Mônica, to inspire more girls to follow this brilliant career.
Today, it continues to be an important part of this battle, accompanying the development of covid-19, studying and working on strategies for its containment.
