IEEE is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through IEEE’s highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE, pronounced “Eye-triple-E”, stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
For this reason the organization no longer goes by the full name, except on legal business documents, and is referred to simply as IEEE. IEEE’s core purpose is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE’s vision statement is: IEEE will be essential to the global technical community and to technical professionals everywhere, and be universally recognized for the contributions of technology and of technical professionals in improving global conditions.
The organization is divided into many regions around the world , the regions are also divided into sections and the sections are divided into branches. IEEE AIET SB is placed in region 8, Egypt section, Alexandria higher Institute of Engineering and Technology (AIET) branch.

Since the student branch is present to assist the institute students and advance their level to compete in the labor market. So, The student branch (IEEE AIET SB) carries out many activities and events that serve the branch’s vision and mission and that coincide with the institute’s (AIET) vision and mission as well. Such as workshops, competitions, training courses, field visits, seminars and lectures.
