New Achievement Unlocked!

We are so honored to announce that the ISEP IEEE Student Branch has received the award for best French Student Branch of 2023! Thank you so much to the board members of 2023 and to all of those who have participated in the IEEE events! This prize is a team effort and means a great deal to us!

What is IEEE?

IEEE stands for Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a professional association for electrical and electronics engineers, gathering more than 440 thousand members in over 160 countries.

Various technical areas are addressed by IEEE’s 39 societies, each one focused on a certain knowledge area (Aerospace and Electronic Systems, Computer, Electronic, Engineering in Medicine and Biology, Robotics, Signal Processing, etc.). They provide specialized publications, conferences, and sometimes other services. IEEE claims to produce over 30% of the world’s literature in the electrical, electronics, and computer engineering fields.

Institut Supérieur d’Electronique de Paris (ISEP)

The Institut Supérieur d’Electronique de Paris, located in the heart of Paris, next to the “Quartier Latin”, was created in 1955, just where Edouard Branly, Teacher of Physics at the “Catholic University of Paris”(21 Rue d’Assas), discovered in 1890 the radio conductors which would lead to the invention of the French Television.

ISEP is now spread over two more recent campuses. One building, built in 1988 and located at the 28 rue Notre Dame des Champs, in the center of Paris near the well-known Tour Montparnasse, the tallest building in the city and the jardin du Luxembourg. And another building acquired in 2014 inside the city of Issy-les-Moulineaux, connected by the subway to Paris and surrounded by a park.

Every year, ISEP trains around 300 engineers per year in the domains of Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications. ISEP also host the LISITE-ISEP research lab that delivers Ph.D in partnership with Sorbonne University.

The IEEE ISEP Student Branch is managed by both Ph.D. and engineering students. It aims to promote science and engineering through a vast range of events from crepe nights, invited talks to the organization of conferences.

This year’s novelty : we now have our own IEEE ISEP SB Instagram account!! 😎 So don’t forget to follow us to stay updated!
