We are excited to announce that on the 1st of July at 7:00 pm, we will be holding the first event in the Cork IEEE Student Branch “Gift of the Gab” talk series.

Our first speaker is Dr. Herman Alexander Jaeger.

Alex is a post-doctoral researcher in electrical engineering at UCC. His work is focused on the design and development of next-generation magnetic tracking systems.

Magnetic tracking is an exciting technology used in a wide range of applications, from virtual reality to medical robotics. The technology allows precise motion tracking of objects without requiring a line of sight.

This talk will introduce the basic principles of magnetic tracking technology and how it is being integrated into next-generation consumer and medical devices.

After the talk, there will be the opportunity to join small breakout rooms where we can discuss research and get to know each other.

Every month we will be hosting a new speaker who will be sharing their experiences in both academia and industry. So make sure you are following us on our social media Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn to keep up to date with events!

All are welcome, you do not need to be an IEEE member to join!
