IEEE is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through IEEE’s highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities.

About IEEE RAS
The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society’s objectives are scientific, literary and educational in character. The Society strives for the advancement of the theory and practice of robotics and automation engineering and science and of the allied arts and sciences, and for the maintenance of high professional standards among its members, all in consonance with the Constitution and Bylaws of the IEEE and with special attention to such aims within the Field of Interest of the Society.
RAS strives to foster innovation fundamental and applied research to enhance our analytical and experimental capabilities. Robotics primarily deals with systems incorporating sensors and actuators that operates on functional autonomy, which has enabled remote operations including in space without which it would have been practically impossible. The voyage is unending with exploration on cutting edge technology evident each day. Robotics research emphasizes intelligence and adaptability to cope with unstructured environments. Automation research emphasizes efficiency, productivity, quality, and reliability, focusing on systems that operate autonomously, often in structured environments over extended periods, and on the explicit structuring of such environments.
The Society provides a platform to showcase our talents and creativity with close knit coordination amongst its members and affiliates. Towards this endeavour periodical meetings, seminars, etc., are conducted and publications are brought out. This provides the necessary impetus for the growth of the society and enables every member to share his views and put their thoughts into action. The society provides necessary link between the triad of academia, industry and the common man, thereby improving the quality of life.
