IEEE, an association dedicated to advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity, is the world’s largest technical professional society. It is designed to serve professionals involved in all aspects of the electrical, electronic, and computing fields and related areas slot gacor of science and technology that underlie modern civilization.

IEEE’s roots go back to 1884 when electricity began to become a major influence in society. There was one major slot gacor established electrical industry, the telegraph, which since the 1840s had come to connect the world with a data communications system faster than the speed of transportation. The telephone and electric power and light industries had just gotten underway.

REGION 10

IEEE Region 10, also known as Asia Pacific Region, is one of the ten geographic regions of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). It comprises of 57 Sections, 6 Councils, and more than 200,000 members throughout Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. It provides a platform for members to connect, collaborate and share knowledge within the Asia Pacific region. IEEE Region 10 organizes conferences, workshops, and seminars to promote the exchange of technical information and ideas.

MADRAS SECTION

IEEE Madras Section is a geographic unit of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) within Region 10 (Asia Pacific). It covers the city of Chennai and the surrounding areas in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. The section was established in the year 1980 and is one of the most active sections in Region 10. It has more than 6000 members, which includes students, researchers, and professionals from diverse fields of engineering.

STUDENT BRANCH

An IEEE Student Branch is a student-run organization that operates under the guidance and sponsorship of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). These branches are established at colleges and universities around the world to provide students with opportunities to learn about and get involved in IEEE-related activities, such as technical competitions, workshops, and guest lectures.

A Key Benefit You Want to Emphasize

The benefits of joining an IEEE Student Branch include access to IEEE resources and publications, networking opportunities with other students and professionals, and opportunities to get involved in IEEE-related activities and competitions. Many branches also organize events and activities specific to the interests of their members, such as workshops, technical talks, and industry visits.

What our Alumini Says

“As an electronics engineer, IEEE is always worth its weight in gold since it has equipped me with personal and technical insight. IEEE is more than an association; it is like a brotherhood where we share our own ideology of technology with the community. My years in IEEE has eventually developed leadership, team work and time management skills in me alongside with the technical knowledge. It has changed my way of thinking by familiarising me with various scenarios that are very profitable in my professional life. It helped me stay on track for my first-ever project. Our lives will shine if we use the services of the association duly.”
Harshini Thangavel
“This forum has given me a fine professional experience during my college days. I have developed my managerial and professional skills in IEEE. I have served as an IEEE member for more than two years. This has helped me a lot in my current organisation in a variety of ways. I have organised many events, even though I have been a team player in many activities. I gained more experience to help me improve my skills. I have learned a lot in the student branch, 61631.”
Abdul Ashik M
"IEEE has given me a good opportunity to improve my personal skills. I had been able to create my profile with international industry standards. During my undergraduate studies, I hosted events and shared career guidance programs with my fellow juniors. Importantly, when I struggled to develop industry person relationships, IEEE societies provided a good opportunity to collaborate with them. Ultimately through this IEEE supports both my self development and knowledge sharing among with others.”
