Description:

Many tenderfoots from various departments had stepped into IEEE and WIE clubs with great pleasure. The event rolled off with a mini treasure hunt, in which the mass of students was cleaved into many subgroups and for each group a creative team building task was given. The students took part in their task with great enthusiasm and firmed their performance. In the later part of the event some general questions regarding the games and rebus were asked, the students as usual nailed it. The students were also given with some motivating gifts for their performance. The importance of being an IEEE member was also conveyed. The event terminated successfully with the help of all the Office bearers. The event was headed by our branch counsellor Dr.C.K.Kalyana Sundaram M.E PhD.., Assistant professor, Department of ECE.

Organizer:

This event was lined up and drawn up by Ms .S.Devi Priya from III ECE A.

Aim :

This technical event mainly focuses on giving a worthy time to the students by describing all the Intel’s processors right from its origin  till date. This event also portrayed why Intel’s products were so unique and irreplaceable.

About the event:

The event kick started with the what made the stimulus for Intel to manufacture ICs and gradually picked up detailed description of the world’s first microprocessor Intel 4004 and their successors.  Nearly 17 processors of Intel including the most recent processor Intel® Core™ i9-11900T   were narrated efficiently.

And eventually Intel competitors in manufacturing Processors were also traced out. Through this event its is damn sure that student had seized a limitless knowledge regarding the world of processors.

Feedback:

The last part of this event was feedback session and the student acknowledged that the event was very informative and useful. With the help of the Office bearers the event had terminated in a successful way. The event was headed by our branch counsellor Dr.C.K.Kalyana Sundaram M.E PhD.., Assistant professor, Department of ECE

Tic Tac Toe

About the event :

“ Robots and other combinations makes  the world pretty fantastic compared to today “

-Bill Gates

The IEEE and WIE clubs Continue to sparkle by organizing fascinating and fabricating events regarding robots in the academic year 2021 – 2022. One of such events was termed as “Tic Tac Toe”. This was dated on 23rd October 2021. This technical event was organized and marshaled by Ms.S.Sowmya of III ECE A and Mr.M.Sujit Ragav of II CSE A.

Aim of the event:

The main aim of this event is to inculcate an introduction on Internet of Things(IOT) and to discuss the recent advancements in this emerging field. IOT Products that are launched newly in the market were introduced to obtain in-depth knowledge and practical exposure to the contents.

Description:

Mass of students irrespective of their domains joined the event. The event started with some introduction to robotics and goes on with some important feature of the Kuri Robot like its cap touch sensors, its gesture mechanics, its heart light and its mapping sensors were deeply discussed in this event.  The uniqueness of this endearing robot like it can respond to facial expressions and its battery life and the design of its microphone array were also described in this event.

The features and working of Smart Home products like Alexa, Google Home, Echo, Netgear Orbi Ultra-Performance Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System and August Smart Lock were explained and their uniqueness in serving its consumers were distinguished.

The later part of the event terminated with a small refreshing game called as Tic Tac Toe where the participants were asked to do tasks that were assigned to them  so that they would obtain an opportunity to mark their turns in the game. Students actively involved themselves in the game and enjoyed it. Students gave their feedbacks in the feedback session. The event terminated successfully with the help of all the Office bearers. The event was headed by our branch counsellor Dr.C.K .Kalyana Sundaram M.E PhD.., Assistant professor, Department of ECE.

GOOGLE’S TENSOR SOC

Google Tensor chip is Google’s first in-house System on a Chip (SoC) for smartphones. The chipset has made its first appearance on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The name Tensor comes from Google’s machine learning chip “Tensor Processing Unit” (or TPU, for short) that’s widely used in data centers.

The Tensor chipset features the new Titan M2 security chip. With Titan M2, Google says that the Pixel 6 will have the most layers of hardware security in any phone. That claim is based on a count of independent hardware security subsystems and components.

Google’s custom chip allegedly matches the performance of Snapdragon 870, according to tipster Max Weinbach. So, we can make a good guess of where the Tensor chip will stand among its rivals.

The main reason, as Google shared unapologetically, is to provide a stable and secure platform to execute artificial intelligence (A.I.) and machine learning (ML) tasks on the smartphone itself, without relying on a cloud infrastructure. In fact, the chipset draws its name from Google’s Tensor Processing Units or A.I.-accelerated processors used in its data centers.

MASTER THE BLASTER

“Master the Blaster” , One of the most foreseen event of IEEE and WIE club of the academic year 2021 to 2022 which was clutched on 25 th September of 2021 between 4.00 t0 4.45 pm. Stack of students joined this splendid event. The event was marshalled by S.K. Samrutha of IV ECE B and J.Rufina of III CSE B.

Objective:

To correlate the formulae, working, circuits and applications of an oscillator to gain an in-depth sight into it and help them apply these circuits for further applications. To give the participants a worthwhile time by narrating an invention in the form of a story.

Event:

The event started off with the detailed description of Colpits oscillator and then comes the interesting part of discovering circuits. In this phase the clues regarding the electronics component and their arrangement were disposed and their corresponding circuit has to be found.

And finally, the event came to an end with an invention story. By this fashion, the student could able to reconnect and recall the basic circuitry in an efficient way. The students had given their valuable feedback at the end. The event closed out successfully with help of all the Office Bearers. The event was headed by our branch counsellor Dr.C.K .Kalyana Sundaram M.E PhD.., Assistant professor, Department of ECE

EXO LEET

Numerous students from various departments stepped into IEEE & WIE club for attending a stunning event namely “EXO LEET”  on 18/09/2021 between 4:00 pm and 4:45 pm.  M.S J.Alfina Graceline of III ECE B had campaigned the first part of this staggering  which comprises of technical quizzes. The prime aim was to compare the antique technology with recent Avant-grade technology. The students stamped their role by predicting the technical gadgets and their purpose in a rapid manner. This round also remembered many modern companies.

The Next phase of the event was a technical talk concerning the pollution in atmosphere , S. Madhu Varshini of III EEE gave a tech talk about “Atmotube “ ,a air quality monitoring system. The talk made the students to get a clear glimpse over an indoor air quality monitor. The event ended with a feedback session. The event terminated successfully with the presence of all the Office bearers. The event was guided by our branch counsellor Dr.C.Kalyana Sundaram M.E,P.hd., Assistant Professor , Department of ECE.
