What is GRSS?
The Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) is a technical Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). GRSS fosters engagement of its members for the benefit of society through science, engineering, applications, and education as related to the development of the field of geoscience and remote sensing.

IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. GRSS is one of the 39 societies of IEEE, the largest academic and professional Society with about 430,000 members in 160 countries. GRSS has more than 4200 members in 94 countries. It has currently 79 chapters all over the world (16 of them are student chapters), and 11 ambassadors.
Student Branch Vision
The primary purpose of IEEE student branch is to Inspire, Enable, Empower and Energize our student members to enhance their technical interests by providing them a platform to show case their skills.

- Arrange regular events on the campus specifically dealing with the latest technologies
- Work towards inspiring more students to become members
- Increase Membership Retention, through the benefits of IEEE
- Organize technical awareness programs for young professionals
- Form more Special Interest Groups to encourage project activity among the student members
- Kindle students interest in making new papers and projects
- Strive towards achieving more IEEE-sponsored awards and aim at representing papers in international conferences
