The Pravidhi-SICSR IEEE Pune Student Branch organised an offline event to celebrate international women’s day and to provide valuable insights on women empowerment. The event, held on February 21st was undoubtedly a huge success, educating everyone present there, the power of an action. This event was divided in two parts, a quiz section and then a speaker session.
Mr. Aditya Bajaj, chairman of the IEEE SICSR Student branch, started the quiz section laying down basic rules and regulations to be followed before the quiz. Ayushi (Anchor) welcomed everyone and stated how the quiz is going to be, the groups, the representatives. Volunteers took the responsibility of dividing the audience into groups and the professors selected that group who raised their hand first. The quiz started with round 1 entrepreneurship. There were 5 rounds in total. Purvi (Anchor), announced the winner (Group A: Vishwas Rao, Tanmay Pednekar and Vinit Shah). Certificate of Appreciation and Participation were handed over to winners and other participants, respectively.
Rajashree Ma’am welcomed the guest speaker, and she talked about SICSR, and also congratulated SICSR IEEE Student Branch Members who are selected at IEEE Pune Section. Mrs. Laveena introduced herself and her company briefly then started the seminar with some questions which made the session more interactive. She told Common Problems at times we all have faced a situation in which our wardrobe isn’t sufficient and spending money on one time wear clothes isnt a feasible idea, this problem was the whole basic reason for the foundation of her company ‘rent an attire’.
She briefed on the company’s morals, its formation, their future goals, their challenges she acknowledged the power of coordinating and cooperating. She shared that her company’s customers feels it interesting to about designers incredible work and thinking, that after wearing an outfit its feels them worth. Her Company ‘Rent An Attire’ solved the problem by renting instead of selling and after coming a long way, now they are widely known for their unique work and have 3 big offices which they strongly plan on increasing with going unicorn eventually. She said that her company promotes sustainable fashion unlike other fashion company.
She told her childhood dream was to be an army officer but how she is now an outstanding businesswoman. Her journey wasn’t easy, she failed at various steps, but she never give up ed, she then joined NCC where she become a good shooter and vey soon become gold medalist in it then after all that her interest switches and move towards passion and joined corporate world as a HR manager.
A successful company starts with taking action. Believing that the value of an idea lies in its execution. She told her ideas was rejected by many in the starting of her phase, because of the hygiene concerns, but she was not able to find a better way for that. She Encouraged to change management within ourself by acquiring the needed skill set. She talked about the importance of gratitude, preserving patience, and time management.
Sesion Ended with a questionnaire to Mrs. Laveena where she answered some questions and solved participants’ doubts. Dr. Baljeet Kaur presented a vote of thanks to the speaker with a memento.
