Pravidhi – SICSR IEEE Pune Student Branch

The Annual General Meeting of the SICSR Student Branch was held on 14 th March at Symbiois Institute of Computer Studies and Research. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Rajashree Jain, Branch Counselor at SICSR Student Branch, and attended by branch members, advisors, and other participants. During the meeting, Dr. Rajashree Jain introduced herself, followed by Dr. Baljeet Kaur, Branch Advisor, who also provided an introduction.

Dr. Rajashree Jain presented the mission and vision of the SICSR Student Branch. The mission focuses on capacity building through the organization of technical workshops, seminars, lectures, and similar events. The branch aims to foster problem-solving skills by conducting competitions at both local and global levels. Furthermore, the branch strives for community development by encouraging member participation in local and global IEEE events. The vision of the branch is to provide a platform for students to nurture their creative skills and become global professionals in the field of science and technology.

The branch shared its notable awards and achievements during its three-year journey. It has been honored with multiple achievements and recognition, including being judged as an emerging student branch in both 2019 and 2021. The branch counselor and members have also received various appreciations for their contributions.

Dr. Baljeet Kaur, the Branch Advisor, announced the core team for the year 2023, which includes:

The roadmap for 2023 was discussed during the meeting, with approximately 25 upcoming events being planned. These events cover a wide range of topics and activities, aiming to engage and benefit the members of the SICSR Student Branch.

The meeting also focused on the goals of the branch for the upcoming year, which include:

• Increasing member retention and recruiting new members.
• Enhancing member engagement through various technical and non-technical initiatives.
• Fostering innovation for technology development, keeping in mind the broader cause of “humanity.”

Dr. Baljeet Kaur expressed her gratitude to all the participants for their active involvement and valuable contributions. The meeting was adjourned with a positive outlook towards the future endeavors of the SICSR Student Branch.

The SICSR Student Branch looks forward to a successful year ahead, characterized by growth, learning, and impactful initiatives in the field of science and technology.

Additionally, at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting, a pizza party was organized as a gesture of celebration and camaraderie. Members, advisors, and participants had the opportunity to socialize and enjoy delicious pizzas together. The casual and enjoyable atmosphere provided a platform for networking and building stronger bonds within the SICSR Student Branch community.
