2014 Arduino Workshop

0001SW

This workshop will help participants to explore the Arduino kit, provides an opportunity for participants to apply concepts of basic electronic theory in interesting ways, and without strict monitoring. Indirectly, this method will provide a space for participants to gain the mind of the creative ideas that they can, through their daily work, tests and learning their theory.

The Arduino workshop was targeted for 25 undergraduate students at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). This workshop was held over two days, to provide more time for participants to adapt to the new information learned. In addition, each participant was provided with one Arduino kit during the two-day workshop and they have an option to purchase it after the training. Mr Radin Yusof Radin Sadi conducted the workshop where he had an experience using the Arduino kit for his final year project at UPM. He won the 2014 IEEE CAS (M) Innovative Award and bagged a silver award during the International Innovation Festival (INNOFEST) 2014 for his project entitled “Smart Home Energy Monitoring System”. He is now working as engineer at RSF Engineering Services.

The effectiveness of this workshop was evaluated through a competition held at the end of the training session. The participants were asked to produce one of the most creative design by applying the knowledge gained from the workshop.
