EE Option Talk 2016 was held at the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia on 14th of November 2016. The program has brought more than 60 participants comprised of 3rd year students and lecturers from Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering UPM.
The program was held to create interest in several majors being offered at Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, UPM; to promote and disseminate knowledge on various topics and technologies of electrical & electronic engineering; and to expose students about electrical & electronic engineering as a profession in a wide field. Apart from that, it was also held to celebrate on the newly formed IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group at UPM Branch.
The program started with the inauguration of IEEE Women in Engineering Student Branch Affinity Group UPM by the WIE SB Chair, Fatimah binti Abd. Rahman. Then, the program continued with talks on “Electrical Power Engineering” by Ir. Dr. Mohammad Lutfi bin Othman, followed by the second speaker, Dr. Nurul Amziah binti Md. Yunus who gave a talk on “Micro Electronics Engineering” and ended with the talk on “Control System and Signal Processing” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Samsul Bahari bin Mohd. Noor.
During this program, the students were given opportunities to enquire further on specific engineering major and aligned it with their personal interest. Positive feedback from the students was obtained at the end of the program where they were able to determine the preferred options. Then, the program ended with a group photo session and networking session during tea.
