2016 EE Games

IEEE Student Branch Universiti Putra Malaysia (IEEESB UPM) had successfully organized the EE GAMES 2016 on the October 3rd, 2016 as one of the annual activities of this club. The one-day event was participated by 170 students of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, UPM.

The event was organised to share expertise and experience of every individual as well as strengthen the relationship between the new students and current students of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. This program involves a range of activities. Among these are group activity, namely futsal game. Apart from to test physical strength of the participants, activities such as futsal can also help to inculcate positive competitive attitude among the participants. Meanwhile, explorace and tele match games were held to help the participants to get to know each other when the session takes place. Thus, through the EE GAMES 2016, this wealth of experience and expertise can be shared among the participants can help strengthen relationships between them.

            The program started at 9.00 a.m with futsal activity and ended around 1.00 p.m. Then the program continued at 3.00 p.m with explorace and telematch games. The explorace activity involved 4 checkpoints, namely “Zig-zag Stability”, “Aim It Right”, “Le-Trans Siberian” and “Catch Me If You Can”. Each checkpoints help students to improve their critical thinking skills as long as their teamwork skills. Telematch game, “The Giant Teeter” then started at 4.30 p.m. This game is intended to enhance students’ teamwork and leadership skills. These games ended at 5.30 p.m. “Welcome Dinner” then started at 9.00 p.m with opening speech by President of IEEESB UPM and continued with dining session. During the dining session, videos from each batch were presented. Then, the program continued with ‘Dikir Barat’ performance by the First Year students. The program then continued with prize giving session and celebration of IEEE Day as well as group photos.

            Positive feedbacks were obtained from all the participants where they were satisfied with the organization of the event in terms of food, venue and and the games played. Some improvements were suggested on the time for the program as they feel a little bit tired with the pack schedules.

IEEE SB UPM would like to thank all the committees of EE Games 2016 and other volunteers from the students itself for supporting this event. Also, thank you to all participants of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering for joining the event.
