Webinars:
Another key theme last session was the introduction of webinars. Unlike the general meetings held at a determined on-campus venue, these webinars allowed student members from other campuses and universities to participate. The webinars featured distinguished panelists such as Sola Betiku (Principal Engineer, SHELL Nigeria), Emmanuel Afolayan (Design Engineer, Apple), and Donald Okafor (Software Lead, Microsoft), among others. These experts shared key insights on various technological and professional topics, covering areas such as career building in tech and engineering, the importance and relevance of technology, and experiences of former members now fully engaged in start-ups. The goal was to provide awareness, encourage and inspire members, build their confidence, answer questions, and alleviate any doubts they might have about their future in the field.

– LCD distance indicator which allowed members gained valuable insights into interfacing sensors and displaying data on LCD screens using Arduino.
– Soil moisture content IoT device via ESP32 boards, which allowed participants to delve into the realm of Internet of Things (IoT) and sensor technology.

IEEEXTreme 17.0:
IEEXTreme is a 24-hour programming competition that features tens of thousands of student programmers from all over the world in a battle of speed, skill and technical accuracy. The IEEEXtreme 17.0 Competition concluded on the 28th of October 2023, having IEEE-UISB’s teams coming in 2nd and 3rd place Nationwide. The two teams were made up of Ajileye Olaoluw, Anthony Alikah, Joseph Alikah and Olamide Atitebi.

Student Professional Awareness Conference 2024: #SPAC2024
IEEE UI-SB yearly Flagship Event went down with another bang as usual, but this time it was a little more, special.
