WIE-Affinity Group is a sub division of IEEE which aims to empower millennial females in technology around the globe. The vision of WIE is to form a diverse community with both women and men to change the future by bringing in cutting edge technology. The acronym WIE stands for Women in Engineering. Currently, there are over 800 IEEE WIE Affinity Groups worldwide which organize and host diverse activities such as seminars, workshops and local sessions. Walking in the footsteps of its founding father, WIE works the same as IEEE. The general body of WIE mirrors that of IEEE, with a system of heads and volunteers.
